Meet the Winemaker Valeria Losi Traditional Chianti Classico

The historical territory of the Chianti Classico wine region extends from Florence in the north to Siena in the south.

There are nearly 177,500 acres of fertile land with the ideal climate, elevation, and terrain for the Sangiovese grape. Sangiovese is the primary grape for production of Chianti Classico, and other fine IGT wines.

There are nine historical municipalities within the boundaries of the Chianti Classico zone. Names such as Radda in Chianti, Greve, or Gaiole in Chianti may be familiar. But if you travel south of Siena, you will arrive in the most southerly municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga. The name you may not be familiar with, but don’t let that fool you, the wines of this area are delightful.

It is here in Castelnuovo Berardenga that we meet Valeria Losi and her family winery, producer of Chianti Classico wines.

The Etruscans first settled this arable land over 2500 years ago. The Losi family has been farming and winemaking on this same land since the 1870.

Join us as we meet Valeria and take a walk into the vineyards with her.
